Comfort is The Enemy of Progress

By
Chris Simms

As Fredrick Douglass once said, "If there is no struggle, there is no progress." On your quest to
improve yourself and change your life, accept that it will be uncomfortable. Make your home in
the place where it is uncomfortable and thrive there. When it gets uncomfortable, keep your
mind on your goals and re-adjust methods if necessary in order to accomplish your mission.
Your future self will thank you for it.
"Those who profess to favor freedom and yet deprecate agitation are men who want crops
without plowing the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean
without the roar of its mighty waters." Take the good with the bad and be steadfast, realizing
that it is just a matter of time before you progress in an upward direction.
Stay calm, positive, and motivated!
Good luck!
